Our Guiding Light

Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade

Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, is the visionary leader behind the establishment of Shanthivana Yoga and Nature Cure Hospital, founded under the Shanthivana Trust at Dharmasthala in 1987. Inspired by his commitment to holistic health and natural healing, Sowkhyavana, the second branch under the Shanthivana Trust, was established in 2007 to extend these services and values to a broader community.

He has been a pioneering force in promoting holistic health through naturopathy and yoga. His approach emphasizes the integration of traditional Indian healing systems with modern wellness principles to create a sustainable model of preventive and promotive healthcare.

Under his guidance, naturopathy is practiced not only as a treatment method but also as a lifestyle, focusing on natural therapies, balanced nutrition, mental well-being, and spiritual harmony. His vision has led to the establishment of institutions that offer accessible, nature-based healing rooted in compassion, discipline, and service to humanity.
